Get some practice at running long down hills, my quads were tender for 4 days after this years run and I only pottered round.

An autum recce would also stand you in good stead for next years event.

    Hope this helps

Thanks Wynn, Steve, Alex, Ian and all the gang, fantastic race, and the two fry ups weren't bad either . The Anny Waltz has been the annual fell running highlight for me, for the past few years, and it just gets better. I'll look forward to what nastiness you inflict on us, when the waltz becomes a teenager (can't be as bad as Harry)

pudgy it may have helped if you have had a straw for the beer!

i could rig one up for you next year therefore you can have your own barrel on straw

Contrary to Stagger's advice, forget the long down hills and practise the long steep uphills

Stolly Stolly Stolly If he trained for years he would never run Robinson.

Up hill you can either do or you cant, I agree a few hill reps every blue moon helps,

    BUT

The key to not losing time is to be quick down hills and with practice it saves sore quads in the big events.
