    Paddy Buckley, link up route>?

How do you get from Y Garn (Nantlle), through to Craig Wen?

Bobs site mentions going through Rhydd Ddu?

But I think John went through Pont Caer Gors this winter?

I'd have thought down Y Garn, to the Bridleway, along the bridleway behind the lake and straight through the woods to Pont caer Gors? Then straight up to Craig Wen?

    Is this the best way?

I've also heard that there's trouble getting through the land at Pont Caer Gors? Is this true?

I was hoping to do the Hebog and then Snowdon legs on Sunday.

    Cheers

    Iain

I took my notes from the Turnbull book but I think that the way John went via the forest is better. Jo Scott also went that way last summer. The line to aim for on the bridleway is the point where it is crossed by the stream dropping from between Y Garn and Mynydd Drws Y Coed - go any further right and there are waterfalls and the stream is in quite a deep gully. This is all very runnable on grass with only a short steep section.

As for Pont Cae'r Gors - I think it is owned by the farmer at Fridd Uchaf just up the road who used to have a "get off my land" reputation. However if you are doing this bit late at night I doubt (stress doubt) that you'll have any problem.

Cheers, only managed to the start of the Nantlle Ridge section yesterday before I called it a day and ran back to Llanberis. An awful day to be in the hills. Anyway took the straight line to Bryn Banog, which is definately getter, and the wall to Y Gyrn, so feeling better about that section now. I was 10 - 15 minutes up on the times without pushing it, when I called it a day, which I was pretty happy with considering the weather.

I'll go back and have a look again at the link up between the tw o sections.
