    Rainow Fete

Does anyone know the route for this and the distance?

    Re: Rainow Fete

do you mean Rainow Five on May 13th?

if so, it's er... 5 Miles, and map here:

if you're really desperate to get up White Nancy (oo-er) and Kerridge Hill, there's the new Bollington Festival 3 Peaks race (5.4M) 4 days earlier!

Thanks Daz but I'm actually talking about the race that is part of the fete in July. I understand it goes straight up to the ridge from rainow along the ridge a bit and straight down.

    It's not in the calendar.

Running along the Kerridge ridge and down from white nancy last night I was wandering whether the Rainow 5 ever changes direction to clockwise? I enjoy the descent from white nancy far more than going up it!

Looks like a great little route - they've negotiated going across to Nab Head to make a circular route (it only has a footpath to the top, so it'd normally just be a short up and back from the housing estate - I use it occasionally for hill reps).

That would be far too dangerous. Couldn't possibly be allowed on health and safety grounds.

    Thumbs up Re: Rainow Fete

I've done this race from Rainow Fete a few years ago
From Rainow School, just off the main road, GR SJ 95012 76025
It was called Kerridge Climb 3m and starts at the back of the school
It crosses some fields and climbs steeply up Kerridge Ridge alongside a dry stone wall to a stile on the right
Pass stile and follow ridge past trig point to another stile
Pass stile, down hill and bear right steeply downhill back to start
