help its stopped rising

since AJ has been away (2days and not back till tomorrow ) ive noticed the magic wicker basket at the top of the stairs has packed up
me and my lad have filled it with football and runnin kit but its stopped workin.
it usually rises up on its own and heads for the washin machine.
how do you ladies get it to rise up and move.
i need answers, im runnin out of kit

Ours was full only 1/2 hour ago and suddenly it's empty again so a quick transfer of your kit into our basket, stop for a cup of tea etc. and you'll have clean gear in an hours time.

No idea how it all works, but I hope to god our basket doesn't break as well
