    Some more Details

What is the Ribble Way Challenge?
It is 100km trek for teams of four over 30 hours in tough
conditions. The route follows the Ribble Way, starting at the
Ribblehead viaduct on the edge of the Yorkshie Dales and
    finishing in Preston, Lancashire.
Teams of four walkers or runners complete the route,
checking in at 10 checkpoints along the way. Each team must
have a support crew who can meet them at checkpoints to
provide them with food, changes of clothes, water and
general encouragement. Each support crew must comprise at
    least two people.
    When is it?
The 2009 Ribble Way Challenge takes place on 20th and 21st
    June.
Teams will be given a starting time slot between 6.30am and
8.30am on 20th June and have til tea-time on 21st June to
    complete the challenge.
    How do I enter?
First gather together some friends to make your team:
4 people who are up for the challenge of walking the
    route
at least 2 people as the support crew
Next you need to decide on a Team Leader, this will be the
person who coordinates your training and your fundraising
activity in the lead up to the event.
You also need to decide on a team name – something to use
when you’re fundraising as well as an emblem for your group!
Once you’ve made all these decisions simply complete the
form opposite and send it to us with your team entry fee of
    £100.
When we receive your entry form and fee we will send you a
welcome pack with lots of information to get you started with
    training and fundraising.

    Re: Ribble Way Challenge

I guess the whole point is to raise money for a charity.
You don't need the full time to complete the Calderdale Hike either- most running it for the Ultra series were a long way inside their time- but the walkers who organised it, marshalled it and provided the food etc took longer at a more leisurely pace.
If we get a 6.30am start could we be in the pub on Sat eve?

I am doing it with 3 friends and hope to have a great day out.
