Ha ha ha 2 mile yesterday 2nd run off 2017 and I have Doms.
Great to have legs that know they have been out.

Just funny as to how unfit I have become.
So I'm at the bottom in fitness and mind.
    Only way is up

Can I recommend a hot bath? As hot as you can have for about 20mins.

Onwards and upwards sore legs are good, when I was fit I found that I never got them, did my longest run since coming back the other Monday, had sore legs til the Friday after it was great

Walshes are light and very comfortable, but not really suitable for a 10-mile race on mostly hard-packed footpaths and gravel tracks. Ooooh, my calves!
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

I realise i'm stating the obvious here, but since I've increased up to regular higher mileage and climb, doms have decreased dramatically.

The only race in the past 6 months i can recall that has really left me pole-axed the next day was the LDMT last weekend. Most other races (including Buttermere, Ennerdale, etc) I've certainly known about it, but been quite happy to head out the following day for a gentle run into the hills. Although this is confusing to me, because during the LDMT i was thinking how i wasn't feeling as physically stressed as in Ennerdale/Buttermere, but it hit me hard the following day.

When i first started i was struggling to get up and down stairs for a couple of days after races.
