    Trail Shoes Question (again)

Last year I did the three peaks in fell shoes and found the lack of cushioning to be problematic (I've suffered from Plantar Fasciitis ever since...) In the quest for the perfect shoe for this kind of race, I've since tried Asics Gel Orient (too flimsy and road shoe like IMO) and Montrail Highlanders (aggravate my Plantar Fasc, too clunky, too high a profile and heavy when wet IMO.) I quite like the look of the PUMA TRAILFOX.
Anyone know if they're any good or anyone recommend anything else??

Mizuno have just re vamped their Wave Ascends. They would be ideal for day if its like the last two years and dry. Good grip, good cushioning and v stable.
If you want a pair, pm me, we can do a 'deal' !!!
If you cant change something, change the way you feel about it !

I would plump for mizuno wave harriers bearable on the road sections, good fit for the boggy bits

    This is a repeating topic.

Last year I used Mudclaws and found them too minimal for the hard 3P surface, I blistered badly and suffered.

I'm using Mizuno Wave Harriers this year, with Superfeet Greens to support the arch and stave off PF and protect against those little stones that dig in your foot through the soles on long runs on hard surfaces. Did over 3 hours in them on Sunday on trail, road and moor and they were fine (comfy and no blisters).
Biriani for endurance, pathia for speed.

I Got some Puma trail foxes last year for the three peaks yacht race and found them very comfortable and a good fit, They are very light and make a good race shoe. The down side for me is the that I found them a bit too slippy on wet rock. The sole unit took a real pounding and have wore out far too quickly. I understand they were going to improve the design fot this year but I've not tried them since.

I now use Montrail harrier which is stronger tougher grippier but unfortuanately a lot heavier.
    Take your pick...

Try get to a shop and try them both on, the choice may be made for you
    Hope this helps
