And even more of them have entered the Great Manchester 10K run (or do I mean walk? )

Maybe but why does this bother you so? People can make their own minds up without being patronised so why not just let them decide for themselves? I don't care if people want to run 2quid fell races so why do you and others seem to care so much about this?

The scheduling of all four of these races mean that the majority of competitive fell runners are unlikely to be able able to complete the series. I entered last year, but when the 2007 fell calendar came out realised I am unlikely to manage a single race.
    • Sat 28th April Hawkshead - day before the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.
    • Sun 3rd June Garburn - day after Duddon Valley, Long English and
      British Championship.
    • Sat 1st September Derwentwater - same day as Ben Nevis.
    • Sat 6th October Coniston - same day as Great Whernside, Short
English and British Championship race, also the day before the Ian
      Hodgson Mountain Relay.

Trail Runner - Do you know if we can use the showers at the campsite after the race?

You couldn't last year Danbert although I doubt anyone would notice if you did use them, it was coin operated showers - think it was 20p pieces.

Start of all my injury problems at this race last year!

Bloody hell Dom you're a right harbinger of doom you are. I don't need any omens or portents of injury thank you very much - as i seem to be permanently injured as it is.

Thanks for the tip on the showers though.

Just be careful at 5k, all I'm saying!

It's a good race for us non-fellrunning fellrunners Danbert! - hopefully I'll be at some of the races later in the year.

Dom would you suggest that the course is 'all' runnable or are some of the climbs significant enough to resort many in the field to have to adopt the fell runners hands on knees approach?

Danbert, it's pretty much all runnable.

The worse climb is the bridleway (known as the 'Coffin track') up from Bass Rock on the shore of Windermere back into the woods. It is runnable but I expect a lot of people will use the runners hands on knees approach.
