the day before a race?
the day before a race?
Depends,
I usually run, maybe not so far but yes. I have been known to run on the same day as a race if its in the evening, again not too far but keeps the legs loose.
Personal preference I'd say, just see what works for you.
Depends on the race, how far it is and how much importance I've decided to give it. As a general rule if it's going to be less than an hour I'll usually run the day before. In the summer I'd just have too many days off otherwise!
I'm thinking of reccying the AW route the day before - but walking / jogging at most. Trying to decide whether what I gain in course knowledge will justify stiff legs on race day ...

Just done @ 3 miles, a mile of which was 100 mtr strides....Liver Hill tomorrow...Always try and get out the day before a race for a couple to three miles, keeps the legs fresh for me
Consider yourself lightly; consider the world deeply.
It depends how competitive you want to be in the race? It will take something out of your legs, but if you're in it to 'take part' rather than 'compete' then it doesn't really matter.
