Well I found a route description by doing that. It's a fell race, join the dots from the grid references! And said description tells you exactly how much of the route is on the road!

    3rd July 7pm £3 EOD

Start is the same outside the Queens Head pub in the village, entry is on the day at the village hall where prizes will given out for runners competing/completing in the NE Cumbria Series (this being the last of four).

The route is similar but with a few key changes.

start - outide pub on road

Check point 1 - Heughscar Hill Summit GR - 488232

Check point 2 - Arthers Pike Summit GR - 461207

Check point 3 - Bonscale Pike Summit GR - 453201

Check point 4 Heughscar Hill Summit (again) GR - 488232

Finish - Fell Gate (last one before tarmac road - same finish)

Thoes that have done the older route will notice I have taken out the steep climb up to Arthers, and added Bonscale and put in Heughscar SUMMIT twice.

Please come prepared to carry full Saftey kit, and PLEASE park OFF any village green grass, otherwise this race could be a one off. Park at village hall and Askham Caffe.

    Re: Askham Fell Race

Many thanks, my last comment was meant it jest! i had found the description as posted above but it means nothing as i am not from the area and i dont have an o/s map to see the grid refs so was hoping there was a route map out there somewhere. Im fairly new to fell racing but all the races i have done in the past i have managed to find a suggested route map that i can print off, i then normally use this as a good starting point in going for a recce. Will invest in an o/s map
