I think Stagger you are on thin ice a little here.

    a. He was right (as was Scott) that there were quite a few notble runners missing.
    b. The assertions about the weather are fair comment. He might not have been there but neither was Sian LLoyd but she tells you what it's gonna do
    c. It's on his home turf.

OK, I apologise for the numpty remarks, although do not take anything from the top lads who all ran very well.
If others choose not to run its up to them, but a record is a record and every holder has done a big effort to achieve it.

I know those hills well Stagger. The pictures make the ground look comparatively dry to previous years and the record was broken by the first 2 despite many top class athletes missing and despite the fact that Rob was well beaten less than a month before by 2 of the missing athletes......so I've made an assumption that weather conditions have been more favourable based on this (I did also mention 'wind' as a possible factor, not just wet ground).

You were right about fishing though- why?
Because clearly you look like a twonk!

EDIT: I never said Rob didn't have a great run...you'll see that i complemented him. All i mentioned was that his task was easier with so many top runners missing and that I don't happen to think he's in his top form at the moment......its hardly slabbering at the guy is it, by saying that he's going to get better throughout the season?

Cheers Big man, we'll call it a draw.

    PS
Only sticking up for my mate Ben who had a great run (5th)
