    Stretton skyline

I don't suppose anybody has the best route for this race.Looking at the map the options are endless ! I'm planning a recce for a week on sunday if anyone fancies it.I'd have no problem getting to all the checkpoints. However,i don't fancy the hardest route,as 19 mile for me is long and tough enough as it is.

I've posted a reasonable route map here:

    Stretton Skyline

Looking at taking part in this later in the year, has anyone else run it? Is it a good race?

I think it's a new race just for the championships.

I don’t think it’s a new race the website http://www.telfordathleticclub.co.uk...rettonSkyline/ says the one in 2008 was the 27th race

Sorry it is, I thought you were on about the Stretton Hills in June. Not this one, sorry. Never done it, keep meaning to do more that side as I loved the Cardington Cracker, but struggling to get any done at the moment.

It's a cracker of a race, taking in the Long Mynd and the hills across the other side of the valley from Church Stretton.

Very, very runnable on either paths or short grass. Some good climbs......but save yourself something for the last strength-sapping climb up from Gogbatch.

Not sure if I'll get there this year. Enjoy!

    Stretton Skyline

Hi, i am doing the Stretton Skyline in a couple of weeks and have a couple of questions.
    1. I have read a report that there is or have been in the past more than one start time. The official start time is 11 am with the first checkpoint closing 35 mins later, if there is an earlier start i think that this would be a good idea for me as its my longest race by a long way and not having to worry too much about being timed out would be preferable. So, is this true?
    2. Apparently you have to use the path up Carding Mill Valley, does this mean the path past Lightspout waterfall?

Any help would be gratefully recieved
    Cheers Chris
