    Henderson's End

I couldn’t resist not starting this thread now since Emmi took me round the route tonight and ive got all excited about it

    4th June this year.

I wasn’t going to do it but since i managed “reasonably ok” i cannot resist racing. Im bound to blow up because i haven’t a clue how to pace myself vs my lack of training over the last 6 months but its a club champ race and i think i may actually be last since ive only done 1 race

Big well done to Emmi tonight, fab run......just need to knock a few more minutes off on race day.

One final word (two actually) Insect repellent!

Received an invitation to this via Fbook some time ago, I think it was from Hopey. Bit out of my way for a midweek run, but will see nearer the time.

What are the distance & climb stats?

Just over 6 miles for those that don't know the best lines and a few lumpy bits.

    All runable.

No shortcuts really, but there are a few good lines to take.

Hoping to give this one a go. I did it a couple of years ago and got bit to buggery. Take Al's advice insect repellent is a must or it will be for me if I can make it.

Daz, id reakon you'd win it!

It starts right next to Rivington Pike top barn.

It goes up the track behind the barn, after a short climb you get to a sort of fork and take your diagonal left....you carry on alon another stony track to a car park. Go right and you will see two tracks going upwards.....take the one of the left.
Its very rough and rocks but runable all the way....you eventually level out and carry on the track for quite a while until eventually getting to winter hill.
Before you get get to winter hill though, you take a right turn over a brook and climb up the scar to the top.
You run along the road all the way to two lads, follow the track down to the sportsmans cottage and then head straight for rivington pike. Once you get to the top of the pike you cannot go straight past and down, you have to take the path on the right that goes round it.
Then follow the track to the pigeon tower.
After you'd passed the p tower, take the gates which goes straight down...
Once you get to the bottom go left and you eventually come to another fork...go left and you will be on the homestraight (its the path you went up in the first place....fly down the track to the finish.

Daz, if you want i can take you round or emmi will if you ask her nicely.
