    SALFORD 5K ROAD RACE


    The 18th Salford 5K Road Race will be held this year on Saturday 9th May 2009.

    The race takes place on an accurately measured, traffic-free course in Heaton Park, Prestwich,
    Manchester, with the start/finish at the Grand Lodge Entrance, off A665 Bury Old Road.

    This year's race will begin at 11.30am. There is also an Under 17 3K race beginning at 11.00am
    with awards for U17, U15 and U13 (3K race is £2, plus £1 extra on the day).
    There is an extensive prize list for the main races, including vets. and team awards.
    This year's entry fees will be £4 club athletes, £6 unattached, plus £1 extra for entries on race day.

    Went along to Heaton Park today for the first time and took Harry with me for a walk. Photographed the race and the pictures are here:

    Great park, so big there's some different part to enjoy on each visit. Even on a decent weather day though it can still be cold!

    Thought it was you snapping away Pinno, the parked up buggy was the clue!

    Last 800m yesterday into a very tough head wind. Good race this and testing.

    A minute down for me on last year, can't blame that much on the wind.

    Certainly is a big park and yes out the sun it was a bit nippy. A few people shouted hi yesterday as they went passed me.
