Parking in Penrith

It looks as if I'll need to leave my car somewhere in the N Lakes area for a couple of weeks in June - complicated story, but there's a BG at each end of this period, and the Three Peaks Yacht Race in the middle.

Penrith is ideally situated, but is there somewhere safe/suitable to leave a car there?

Center Parcs, Whinfell Forest, has a massive car park. 5 mins from Penrith.
