    Keswick walk.

    Oki doki.

Since uni doesnt seem to want you to spend more than a couple of months there....I am now on my summer holidays.
So a mate from uni suggested we catch the train up to windermere and go for a walk in the fells.

Now i know the area round keswick more than the rest of the lakes so thats our best bet.
I know we could catch the 555 bus (i think) and that goes all the way to keswick.

My first thought was going up and down skiddaw, but if anybody else can think of anything feel free to suggest.

Time is an issue since we'd have to get up and down and back into keswick for the return bus back to windermere.

One final thing...are dogs allowed in busses and trains?

Why not take a tent and make a week of it?

Skiddaw affords some superb views if you look back as you climb the 'tourist route'. But TBH I wouldnt really recommend it if you are only up for the one day. Its a bit unimaginative, often very busy and so so steep in parts that either direction is not really that enjoyable.

I dont have time to write much as the dogs need a walk, i need a pee and am quite tired but I would suggest Blencathra is better than Skiddaw. Also often busy but loads more options regarding which way up/down.

If you are bussing it to and from Windermere train station then how about a run from Keswick to Grasmere, then pick up the bus near/in Grasmere? That would avoid any possible backtracking? PM me if interested in this option as Its arun I have done many times (and am doing this weekend) so i could give you more detailed route description and options (high fells/low passes)

Grasmere would be a good option actually, gives more walking time from the time saved not going all the way up to keswick.

    Cheers, expect a PM.
