    Training advise

I have ben running for many years now and i am always interested in different ideas on training etc and with this in mind i would like to now the thoughts of the formulites regarding training for Fell/trail races around the distance of 12 miles.
I am now a V45 and due to injuries i limit myself to training every other day.
I have a 12 mile race in Spring and my present schedule is
    long run 1.30 over moor/fells
hill run 70 mins (hills as hard as i can on the day) road
60 mins+, inc30- 40mins tempo run or hill work out
60mins .x/c run or road fartlek
Any ideas on how i can improve on this ?
Last year my longest runs were once a week for about 2 hrs, should i aim to increase this and also aim to fit a long run in mid week ?

Sounds like a good schedule to me- I personally wouldn't do anyting too different, especially if you suffer from injuries

    I'd be inclined to agree.

Sounds like you've got most bases covered. As an injury-prone 45 year old I would suggest you do as much as you think you can get away with - you know your own body by now better than anyone.

Don't forget there is always gym work and cycling etc. to supplement the running if you are really susceptible to injuries.
