Geoff got round in 12 hours 3 minutes. heartbreaking it was.

Ian W pulled ahead going up Gable and got back with about 7 minutes to spare.

I've never paced anything so critical. Nearly cried at the finish.

Sure Geoff will tell the story soon. Well done to them both. Big effort.

Now taking my weary legs to bed!

Very well done to both of them, don't know Geoff's age, but guessing he was 3 mins over schedule, apologies if i've guessed wrong.

Well done to both of them. the JNC is tough. much faster than a BG over similar ground. When I supported it it felt close to race pace over the earlier legs.

Well done both of them. It had become very tight at Styhead when Marv and I dropped them off, after a fast pace early on.

Ok, do you want my list of excuses?

Seriously, it was a brilliant day out, but I was somewhat gutted to miss the 12 hours. I had an hour to get from Haycock and thought there was an outside chance - but the final 2 climbs up Seatallan & Middle Fell were just 2 much. 12 minutes to go at the summit of Middle Fell, so I even ditched my bumbag & just ran as fast as my poor knackered legs could take me!

We really couldn't have wished for a better support team - they were just brilliant at every stage. Obviously I've thanked them all personally, but no harm giving a few name checks here-

    Leg 1:
    Daz H
    DD from Hayfield
    Marvin

    Leg 2:
    Toby Cushion
    Margarine
    Grouse
    Mark Smith

    Leg 3:
    Toby
    Margarine
    Grouse
    Andy Green

    Leg 4:
Toby (this guy never stops running - amazing)
    Andy Green
    Rich T
    Dave Bowen
    Dave Harvey
    DD from Hayfield

    Road:
    Helen Allison
    Rae Pritchard
    Janet Lee

Thanks everybody. Several people have already offered to help if I give it another go. We'll see, there's plenty of other stuff I want to do.

Almost forgot - thanks to everyone who sponsored me - http://www.justgiving.com/geoffbriggs - Leukaemia Research is a really good cause to support.

I'm not sure I deserve much credit. I couldn't keep up on the first climb of the day and made my way to the end of Leg one in my own time. After driving to Langdale, I then rejoined the party at Rossett Pass to climb Bowfell before peeling off again at Ore Gap and seeing them through at Sty Head.

Very well done to Ian, and commiserations to GeoffB - I guess the injury affected your preparation as I'm sure you'd have made it otherwise.
