Favourite Race Memorabilia

Over the years I haven't especially collected a lot of stuff from races. I've got 3 'genuine' coniston slate coasters for doing the Coniston 14 (a road race), a rucksack badge for completing the Malhamdale Meander, two Full Tour of Pendle T shirts - the now very faded blue one (2007) still worn proudly as a badge of honour for somehow completing and surviving the race in dangerously amateurish and shambolic fashion - and a couple of 3 peaks running tops (which aren't especially good quality if you ask me). Oh and I also won a delicious cake at last year's anniversary waltz!

Undoubtedly though my bestest race memorabilia is, sorry was, my High Peak Marathon T Shirt. Part of this is down to the pride that comes with completing such a bonkers race but part of it also is the bright orange colour of the T shirt which somehow struck a cord with me.

Unfortunately though I've gone and lost it or some conniving n'er do well has nicked it .

At coiners in mytholmroyd you get a coaster for running. Best prizes though are at a trail race called the Gin Pit 5. £60 of kit for first junior

The old boxed medal for winning the MV60 category in the 'Peaks' in 1993 - exactly one week after winning the MV60 title in the London Marathon. I subsequently won two more medals in the Peaks, and an engraved glass tankard, but that first one means most to me.
A framed picture of me crossing the line in the '95 London Marathon with the clock standing at 2.53.04. to again win the MV60 group.
The FRA medal for winning the inaugural MV70 English Championship in 2004.
A large glass plaque for winning the MV75 category of the King's Lynn 10K in a time that took me to the top of the British rankings for 2007. It's particulary meaningful because it was my 75th birthday and the plaque is engraved with the date of my birthday.
They'll probably all go into my coffin so I can show them to St Peter at the Golden Gate and hopefully earn entry into paradise. Failing that I'll shoot through before he can stop me!
