The race does not always go to the swift, but to the ones who keep running
No but I drove past the sign for Haigh Hall today. Brought back fond memories of that place - one of my first races was a 5 miler one evening way back when I started running (when I used to run for Southport Waterloo AC).
A good number of teams turned out today we had 2 teams finish in the top 10 and my team finished 12th i think the first 3 teams were Salford,Blackpool,Bolton and there was also two good womens teams out and 2 good looking women from Stockport

To the Regiment - I Wish I Was There
I used to do the Haigh Hall 5 too in the mid 1980's as a teenager (Tuesday nights), typically running around 29 mins (sometimes finishing around Southport runners). It was certainly a PB course then with a good field, until they added about 200M to the finish! I believe it is a completely different course now. Ran a lifetime best of 26:57 there in 1988 only to find they'd sent us the wrong way so it had been 100M short.
On the relay, going by yesterday's times, is the course different to what it was when I last did it in 2000?
You'll never Walk Alone!
The course was the same as last year but different from the year before. Its a tough little course but good though.
either I've suddenly got faster or it's not quite 4 miles. Anybody know? Good event and nice run, I'll be keen to do it next year.
It was not quite 4 miles and you was the quickest person in our team
Its an approximate 4 (about 3.8)
