Last night I completed my last big training run before I tackle The Lyke Wake Race on July 11th. My training has gone pretty smoothly building up the miles over the last couple of months. However, I now feel that the hard bit starts in trying to get the tapering correct. I've not ran this distance before, my previous longest race being 33 miles. The general response that I get from other runners when I question them about tapering is that they are a very individual thing, which isn't very helpful. So is there anyone out there who can shine a light on this very puzzling area for me?
My typical training over the last 4 weeks looks something like this:

x1 10 mile hill run
x2 4 mile runs on flat
x1 2hr cross training on mountain bike
x1 20+ miles hill run

Thanks
