IF Jebby was having a go at the grasmere record you'd think his prep would involve less 3 hour plus races...... hardly sensible

When Rob ran it in 2002 he did 19.33 compared to Kenny Stuart's 18.39, so he has a little way to go.
In those days more runners trained specifically for the short steep BOFRA races than today. Rob has a greater ability over a range of distances but the likes of Kenny, Fred Reeves and Tommy Sedgwick were the experts at courses like Alva.
You are right, we need a new winner as it has got a bit samey the last few years!
Fitness can't be stored. It must be earned over and over, indefinitely.
