    15 Championships races, imagine that. 20 minutes each that makes 300 minutes = 5 hours running time
    You can work out the driving time yourself if you like, although I didn't realise that Rostock was in Scotland.

    Family holiday on Luing, but flying out Sunday.. only a week after the Trail Champs but if my legs are at all OK I fancy a race.. that looks ideal at the moment..

    Steep grass at the top with gorse and bramble lower down.

    Depends on the weather but padded shorts for the descent come in useful. Finishing in the main arena in front of thousands of people makes the trip worthwhile - unfortunately on holiday this year

    Alva Games is a great event. Definitely worth a visit. It has been called the British Championship Hill Race since 1968 (pre-dating BOFRA and the FRA) but it goes back much further than that. Bill Teasdale and the other Lake District professionals used to make the trip each year in the 1950s and probably even before that. It is part of fell running history and a classic race.
