Daz, have you tried Wheelbase, in Staveley, between Kendal & Windermere? It's the final round of the Lakeland Lanequest series tomorrow night and it's from Wilf's Cafe, so I'll check for you. (Wheelbase sponsor the series and always have a rep and a display of the laest bling bikes at each event, plus their mega-store is next door to Wilf's and is open until 9.00 p.m. tomorrow.) A lot of the ladies riding the series seem to be very happy and very quick on the Specialised Ruby. There again, I thought that you would recommend the 'lady in question' to pay a visit to Brian Rourke??
Don't get hung up on special ladies bikes... Most women are happier on a man's bike...

Daz, why do you want a ladies bike? You always seemed a perfectly normal male shape to me
"Most women are happier on a man's bike..." Hann darling you have 7 bikes of your own, give the man his bike back - now!
Seriously Daz, why not try Condor cycles if the lady is ever in Town, they stock an enormous range and make their own frames if req'd.
Great call about Condor... I've got four of their bikes and it's about the only thing I'd go back down to London for! Ask to see Greg and say that Nik sent you.
Also, don't get too hung up about women specific geometry unless your good lady is particularly small.... hand reach on brakes/shifters is a common problem but you can get spacers to sort this.
Very undignified I always think. Those huge banana shaped unicycle saddles and grown men clutching them to stay upright - not a pretty sight!!
Yes thanks for the comments and yes my wife is small
Im guessing she will need a size 48
She doesnt seem confident with a regular road bike geometry but likes the specialized ladies bike( not sure the name)
She is up to 56miles on the bike which she did on her scott hybrid but its a little to heavy so investment is needed.
I wanted to get her the bianchi dama dolca or whatever its called but cannot find one
If she likes the Specialized then why not nip down to the Specialized store in Birmingham? They had a good range when I was last there.

A38 South, left onto A452, right onto A47. You'd have thought I drove past it every day for 10 years with those kind of directions!!
