Might be a bit late, but I got an entry going begging now. PM Me for details.
I'm not sure about all this.
The entry form for Borrowdale requires you to quote previous races of relevent standard.
i.e. they vett entries, the organiser requires you to have suficient experience before letting you run,
This is not to say that you guys don't have the relevent experience but
if you are picking up someone else's entry then its not you that has been vetted, so the organiser hasn't been able to verify your experience.
When you turn up on Saturday they could tell you to go away.
So - it might be worth clearing your substitution with the organiser before then.
Hurts me to say it.................But Antisally is right, don't fib, get vetted and enjoy
And don't upset Scoffer, he's a big chap!
Hills and Guinness!
I'm not trying to disagree with your strongly held views, and this is just me being cheekily contrary, but being experienced in fell races has never seemed much help in protecting me from serious injury. The dying bit could equally happen on a long solo run too, so you could argue running in a race is safer. And you can reasonably expect to become exhausted one way or the other
