    Walsh re soling

Was informed today by Pete Bland that Walsh now only produce enough sole units to make new shoes.
So it looks like my racer xtremes with pristine uppers and bald tyres will be getting skipped.
Anyone know any other places that does Walsh resoles?
    ETA sports?

    Cheers Dave,

    Resole £17, postage £6-50.
Still cheaper than a new pair.

    Took mine there yesterday.

It's going to be a couple of weeks until they are ready though.

Unaware of this forum thread, I took two pairs of PBs to leave for resoling at Pete Bland's van at Pendle today. I was shocked, nay stunned, to be told that there are no soles available! Pete said even Walsh have none at the moment. Its apparently a supplier issue that will be resolved but Pete couldn't say when, so wouldn't take the shoes off me.

Two observations I made were 1. that this really plays into the hands of Inov8 and 2. when it starts raining again there will be a spate of injured fellrunners as we all skid out of control on our bald Walshes!!

I hope this is soon sorted out - I have three pairs that could do with new studs (all with excellent uppers)

Better than a spate of injured runners due to running in shoes with a knackered midsole?

Err I think you'll find a resole can include a new midsole....

BUT as any fellrunner knows, stability and grip are more important than cushioning anyway!

Have a chat with Dave at LSR. He does some alternative soles.

Thanks David. I can't think of any sole I've yet seen that matches the Walsh though..

I think I'll press on with my worn ones for now and hope for the supply situation to resolve itself. If not, it might indeed become necessary to buy aNOTHER new pair

Shouldn't moan - this must be the cheapest sport you could do, equipment wise.
