    Jelly Babies

    Keep going back to these after trying all of those new fangled gels and blocks!

    But who makes the best?? I've tried quite a few own brands myself but keep coming back to Bassett's - the original and best - more expensive but they do really taste better!

    Any other I should try??

    Tesco ones are nicer & juicier than Bassetts. They also do some rather yummy Jelly Beans too.

    Used to prefer Tesco's quite firm and toothsome but they stopped making them for a while. Think I prefer Bassetts now, I've gone soft ( I do still have my own teeth though.)

    Re: Jelly Babies

    Another vote for Tesco jelly babies; slightly firmer and less sweet in the mouth than Bassetts. Available now at our store but it is a bit variable so best to get a shed load when they turn up.

    Energy wise 5 JB= 1 Gel.

    Value wise, there's just no comparison. Ok, so i appreciate that gels have lower GI so deliver the energy slower, but it's only a 100 calories anyway. gels also have other stuff like caffeine, electrolytes etc but i've never been convinced that any of that stuff is really that important in most situations.

    Thornton's Fruit Jellies on every run. Not baby shaped though. But then I'm vegetarian (& so are they).

    Tried sainsburys JBs but still prefer Bassets, you can get them cheap in Lidl usually as well

    Of course the big question is which bit to eat first;

    Legs First; stops them running away.

    Head First; can't hear them screaming.

    Always a dilemma.....
