    PBR Start point

Does anyone know the best starting point for the PBR? Is it better to go clockwise or anti-clockwise? What about the best time of day to start? Are there any areas that are tricky to navigate? I'm running it sometime next month. Any advice would be appreciated - thanks

Most people do it clockwise, so any support will know it best this way around.
The most popular start points are Aberglaslyn at 18:00 hrs but at this time of year 19:00 hrs may work better, or Capel Curig again 10 am but 11 am may be better. The idea is to do the Snowdon section and the first part of the Glydderau in the dark (eas-yish underfoot and easy nav). The middle part of the Boundry ridge is the most confusing with little knolls, that if you don't know better, you may unnecessarily visit. The rest is fairly straightforward.

Very few go anti clockwise, clockwise gives nice descents and steep climbs.

As Alan says most start at Capel (11-12ish) or Aberglaslyn (6ish) or Pont Caer Gors (9-10ish). Most people aim to get to Garn for dusk, do all of Snowdon in the dark, and then get Dawn somewhere around Y Garn/Llyn Y Cwn.

The Carneddau is a nice last leg, once up PYOW it's a flatish run.
A mate got around on Thursday in 22:45, starting at Capel at 13:00 pm. This gave darkness from Gyrn to the quarries, 12:00 start may have been better, but that early morning run over the Glyders was magical.
