campsite in the lakes ?

can anyone recomend me a good basic campsite near scafell / ambleside

I'm hoping you want to be near Scafell or Ambleside not near both as that would require some serious continental drift.

For Scafell there is the NT campsite at Wasdale Head or Great Langdale or Church Stile at Nether Wasdale is a nice spot.

Ambleside wise there is the NT campsite ay Low Wray they're the only ones I've stayed at but they're all okay.

yes there's a bit of land between scafell and ambleside

there's a couple of sites at south end of ullswater - near glenridding and patterdale

any site very near ambleside will probably be a bit sh * te

best thing about Ambleside is the Golden Rule - now that's a proper pub
