    English Schools Fell

    http://www.esfrc.org/

    Sunday 27th September.

This is unofficial notification - I was sent this as I'm on the email list.

But if you are a junior out there, and your school is not attending, you are still entitled to take part.

But it looks like it's pre-entry only. You can see email contacts for enquiries are there if you need further info.

    Hi

If your school isn't interested in sending a team, you can enter yourself, but fill in the School Details.

We prefer pre-entries, as we cannot guarantee to have enough T-Shirts if you turn up and enter on the day. It's £5 per person this year, pay when you arrive at registration.

Last year the event was spectacular with 370 runners.

Well done today again to Sedbergh and Lecky for a superbly organised event.

I don't think there's a better place for fell running around - great climbing - fair terrain - it doesn't get better than the Howgills.

Proudest of all today as WPette took the Year 10/11 Girls English Schools Fell Title - leading her team to victory and leading her school - Westholme - to the overall best team award.

One of our other BBH little stars, Sally Searson took 2nd in the year 8/9 - only beaten by Hannah Bethwaite despite being bottom of age.

Quite a few other young BBH athletes there as well and chuffed to bits with them all.

I thought someone might have posted before I got back!

I think the day went off pretty well, with a field of 135 in the Year 8/9 race alone!

Congratulations to Westholme, the overall champions. Westholme are a girls school from Blackburn and have some fantastic runners. When you get the trophy home, send me a photo with ALL your runners in it, so we can get it into a Fellrunner.

I hope to see many of you back at Sedbergh next week at the British Championships. As has been remarked elsewhere, the courses are slightly shorter, with easier descents next week, so don't let today put you off.

Many thanks to Jon Richardson and all the staff and parents at Sedbergh who helped out today, and will be doing the same next week.
