Thread: Kinder plateau perimeter

    Kinder plateau perimeter

Just back from running from Edale train station, up Grindsbrook, & round the perimeter of the plateau, back down to Edale via Ringing Roger. It seemed to take me hours & was very tiring. Does anybody know how many miles I've run? Must learn how to use the measuring tools available! Thanks.

Thanks Iain, that's a relief! A mate told me it was 14 miles but that didn't feel right. God I'm knackered. Good link, ta

Forgot to say congratulations on the UTMB too - absolutely brilliant! Puts my little jogette into perspective

Dan, if you'd been right I'd be swinging from the nearest branch now

Cheers, Kinder always is tiring, just saps your legs. Just seems to go on and on too. It must be near to 18 miles, doesn't look that far on the map though, but runs on Kinder always feel hard to me.

the northern edge is quite heavy under foot at the moment as apposed to the pathed section on the southern edge. Still theres lots of small ups and downs. a good session. I run up to Crookstone Knoll from Rowlee bridge and run to Mill hill and back round the rim. Thats a good run.

Try the triple crossing next or even the Dozen

Could you possibly post a link with route-details of the Dozen Ian? I can't find any descriptions when searching, besides tantalising historical details and horrifying stats (9000+ ft ascent!). Thanks,

    Jimmy.
