Looking at getting a road bike to help with my training, and seeing As Dom won't give me one of his vast collection I'm having to look at buying one. budget is limited but don't want a "cheap" Bike.

Thoughts on this...or how to get Dom to give me one of his...

Looks fair enough for the price, only thing I would change is the rear cassette to an 11-28. (under £20 but get it thrown in with the bike)

A bit pricier (£585) and collect in store (down South) but with Tiagra and carbon fork (sizes 54 and 56cm only)

Have you forgotten I'm a short arse? You'd need to weld two of mine together!

Nip over to Planet X and have a look at these, 10 speed, decent spec.

yes under £400 ideally, it's a nice bike Dom but it doesn't even come with pedals...

The 2300 rear mech can only take a maximum 26 tooth cassette. It might handle a 28, but it might not be very good.

I think you'll be in danger of buying something cheap and regretting it very quickly when you realise the limitations.

Ian, can you warn me when posting links to such sub £500 bikes.

I'm allergic to them quite severely.

I can't vouch for their customer service. As it's a discount heavy operation I'd imagine it's pretty minimal but they do have good deals if in the rights size.
