    You know i reckon you have a point there Grouse. I am often restless after long run /race, maybe a bottle or two of beer would help. On that a bit of unashamed plugging for those in North East, new Bottled Beer shop opened in Darlington. Its run by the son of a great runner Harry Singh (think he's done 110 marathons , there or thereabouts) Ale Cellar.com Recommended by myself who sadly is not on a commission. 24 Woodland Terrace Darlington.

    Choose a pace and regulate your clothing layers so that you stay cool and don't sweat - keeping salts and fluids inside the body helps a lot.
    Also at that speed you'll probably be using more fat than carbohydrate as an energy source, so you may not need so much hi-carb food - but you'll have to experiment to find what works best for you.
    Pork scratchings - an earlier thread discussed ultra nutrition and someone recommended these; I've tried them and am a convert - 50% fat and 50% protein and a bit of salt are just what you need to help replenish and refuel.
