Thread: Ilkley Moor

    Ilkley Moor

    For those Forum readers who do not take The Times (page 63) but who wonder how they can be as successful as Alistair Brownlee the answer is "pounding the tracks...on Ilkley Moor" (the ellipsis refers to *tl*y but we need not go there). As he says: "You just want to go out training. It's fantastic."

    Hmmmh!

    I suppose that means more fell running tourists for us locals from now on.

    For those of you who don't take The Times, but do have online facilities;

    I've just decided I don't trust you anymore.

    Now that you have moved and settled in, you can class yourself as local.

    And, rumour has it, soon to be sporting the red and green Mr B.

    Get yourself down the Lido Graham, surely there must be a V60 triathlon class to set your cap at.
    The only one who can tell you "You can't" is you. And you don't have to listen.

    I don't recognise his description of Horsforth as having "small roads with no cars on them and freedom to run". That won't be the Ring Road then.
    The land at the end of our toes goes on and on and on.

    I don't reckon Graham's old enough yet to run for Wharfedale.

    Apparently he is fed up of every V60 speeding up when they see a yellow vest.

    Boooo. I like the peace and quiet up there. IM gets quite busy on the lower levels, but most people are too lazy to go over the first raise.
    I run back from work (Shipley) to Ilkley over t'moors quite a lot, and even on the beautiful sunny evenings at about 6pm, I never see anyone between Baildon Moor and White Wells. They worry about it being overused, but it's only White Wells and the Cow and Calf that get that sort of usage.
