A 25 litre 'sac should be mooore than enough. I suggest you talk to your partner about what you're taking and see what sort of room it takes up.

I've squeezed all my stuff into an OMM 15l last drop and a 4l bum bag although I've no room for a kip mat now :-(. I've managed fine in all my MMs to date with the OMM 25l classic which is a fantastic bit of kit although I find I can't reach the side meshes with my long arms.

I'm doing the Rab solo and have got every thing in my OMM 20 with out much effort. but I guess it depends on what kit you've got.

The 25 L will be fine. OMM and inov8 are both good as are some others. If you can try it on- they are all different and the waist straps on some won't go tight enough for me.

Try the OMM forum for masses of info about kit.
If you are not sure you will do more ( I bet you do) could you borrow, especially expensive items like sleeping bag?

There are some good sales out there as people try to shift their stock- again OMM forum may suggest some
