    Re: London Marathon

It is a poor reflection on the state of British male marathon runners that only two British athletes finished with sub 2:20 performances, despite the very warm conditions. Lets hope they both be selected for the World Championships or will UKA stick to their selection policy and require a sub 2:12 (individual) or 2:16 (team) perfomance . This race would be a very good preparation for next years Olympic Games.

The claim that this was "the best marathon field ever assembled" was rather exposed by the fact that only three athletes finished in the time period from 2:10 to 2:20.

    Are the BBC commentators sexist!

Cram did mention Jones in the highlights programme.

Well done RR and all the forumites who got round.

That sweltering heat yesterday must have made for ''nightmare" conditions to run in.

Pah it a stupid sport anyway!
    Running 26 miles ludicrous!

When is my stomach going to sort itself out!

Bloody ell half a mile in and it started playing up!

Managed to keep it together till 18ish and then it all went a bit wrong!

Cramp and stomach spasms lead to to a whopping 1:08 for 30k to 40k

    10 km0:44:5820 km1:30:15half1:35:0930 km2:18:2840 km3:26:23finish3:40:15

Very not happy and then when I do finally get to the finish I can't sit or lie down cos I'm up chucking for 15 mins (at least I had the decency to do it in the recyling bin)

    Well done RR, superb mate!!!!!

Sat at my desk in work, with everyman and his dog asking how it went!

Am considering knocking Ironman switzerland on the head this year and concentrating on the running!
