Any websites/calendars of races to look at?

Don't mind travelling around the alps. We'll fly and hire a car.
Iain, this is a great area. I spent 2 weeks in Malcesine with the family this summer. Had a good run to the top of Monte Baldo and back.

Lots of mountain biking to be had there, too.

    Re: European Races

One of the big factors in choosing which of the fabulous overseas races to enter is the flight costs and availability of a cheap airport reasonably near the race.

With the budget airlines (e.g. BMI, Easyjet, Ryanair etc.) closing (and about to close) lots of routes due to recession, its worth holding off a while before deciding on overseas races for next year.
Biriani for endurance, pathia for speed.

Cheers, that's where the wedding is too. Looks to be quite a bit within a few hours drive too. I'll probably have 2 days of full wedding commitments I reckon, so the plan was just to run trails and do a few races.

We're in the process of putting race calendars for each Alpine country on www.mountainrunning.net
The Italian one is done - our programmer is playing around with formats for the calendars to make searching easier.
    Shouldn't be too long.

Brilliant.. it seems due to the fragmented nature of mountain/sky running (see the recent article in the WMRA newsletter on this..) it can be hard to find races. i was just out in the Bavarian Alps and was searching for races and it was quite complex..

Updated calendars now up (thanks to Martin Cox for research). We're working on improving the format to make them searchable but thought it best to get the info up asap to start with. Anne
