    Tasting notes

Not on the theme of running itself, but Après-running...
Had a few pints of Jennings Cumberland Ale last night and it smelt and tasted of raspberries... the barmaiden reckoned it shouldn't. (I had to drink 5 pints to make sure they all tasted the same.

a). It should smell and taste of raspberries
    b). The beer was off
c). I suffered from some temporary neurological disorder (which has corrected itself as I ate my marmite on toast this morning and I couldn't smell toast but could taste marmite )

If noone can help, then my investigation shall continue this evening, same pub, same beer

Maybe you just have a very sensitive nose for these things? Have to say being a little bit partial to beer of the Jennings variety (ok then well a lot partial ) can't say I've ever noticed the smell of raspberries, infinately better than when the pipes haven't been cleaned properly though

Just googled it and found this review:
"The first sip carries an unusual, surprising strawberry note, sweet, supported by sweet prominent hoppiness. On further drinking, the fruit character in the hops becomes profound; fruitiness persists above a significant bitter aftertaste with a hint of sweetcorn. The aftertaste is strong at first, but fades quickly".

SWEETCORN!?!?!?! I didn't get that one
