I usually buy all copies I find for sale to other runners.

or contact your nearest orienteering club - most of them have qualified coaches who'd give you some guidance
    http://www.britishorienteering.org.uk/asp/findclub.asp

and British Orienteering federation even have an online coaching clinic
    http://www.britishorienteering.org.u...sp?PID=CCLINIC

give orienteering a go - you might find you like it -it's very addictive!

I posted by application form off anyway and I'm in, received confirmation just before the weekend. So if you've got your form and were wondering if it's worth posting it to get on the waiting list, there's your answer.

There's also a navigation course (aimed at walkers) at Northern College in Barnsley, held April, June and 3 times in July. £31.

    http://www.northern.ac.uk/

Look under 'Short Course', 'Self and Society', 'Navigation Skills for Walkers'.
