OMM Smock or OMM Jacket

Ok, so its another jacket thread.

Were talking about the Kamlieka one here.

I'm not sure which one to go for?

The smock or the jacket?

Has anyone had experience of either?

have you tried them both on - think the fit might be slightly different.

i've got jacket - lets me get slighly better venting when wearing a rucksack. pockets ok.

I like the smock Doesn't flap like Gore-tex and seems to keep you warm, even if you get sweaty in it on a bad day. Smart enough for the pub too

I rapidly came to love mine after initial reservations. One problem is I tend to get a bit 'tangled up' in it pulling it on Wonder if it'd be easier to get on with the zip pulled down less

Smock is cheaper, and as far as I can tell, has 1 less pocket and less zip, which means less chance of water penetration?

Oh and how are they when the rain is really coming down?

And, anyone used the matching pants? Good for running in?

I think problem is that any waterproof will either wet out, stop breathing or leak after say an hour or two of solid rain. I've run in my OMM for several hours and don't think it's any worse than Pac-lite Gore-tex.

Speed you go at hursty you'll never need to run in waterproof pants. Go to Yoemans and spend a tenner on a pair to leave in your bum-bag

You won't like this then, just had the new OMM top bought for my birthday, the old one is torn from barbed wire, seams have come unstuck, not bad had it 4 years, fantastic top to be fair been a real servant.
Got the new one tried it on-------------------------------------------------- look like an apple in a condom XL my arse the old one fit prefect this one a million miles off WHY omm WHY pls answer me
so if your going to buy one buy the next size up if like me you are at xl find another coat

Worth seeing if you can track down any old stock hursty. They're all black; would suit your ninja style
