    Boxing Day

Not sure if this is in the right place, but I'm planning a Boxing Day run and seeing if anyone else wants to join me.

My other half's on night shifts, so I'll be going out mid morning and planning to park somewhere on the A57 (possibly at the snake inn, if a post run beer appeals), going up kinder and then running a lap of the plateau. Looks a touch under 30k (18.5 miles).

Anyone interested? Route isn't set in stone, so if someone has a better suggestion (although I'm not doing the dozen with a hangover!) then put them forward.

I might be up for this Paul.
I'll need to get a special pass from 'er indoors, which I won't be able to do until much, much nearer the time, so I can't commit to it at the moment, but am definitely interested.
I can ask around the other fell runners in our club too to see if I can drum up some interest.

Not a problem, I'm happy to run on my own so will be going out anyway.... but company's always a pleasant bonus. Is your club Totley? Trying to think where I'd consider "the posh bit of sheffield" and came up with either Dore or Fullwood.

Steel City Striders, and I live in Dore, although I hasten to add it's the cheapo end of Dore - just in case you were worried about me being able to park the Bentley on the A57

Not very - I'm just about in the top third of races I've entered, but not planing on going at race speed.... Probably taking about 3 hours for the run, maybe a bit more, basically running at whatever speed people are comfy at.

    Hi Paul.
Don't think I'll be free boxing day.
I'll be free over the xmas-newyear week. Any other plans for runs like this?

Not sure yet - depends how my legs feel after this one! if they're OK, I might go out again on the 28th, no idea where though so open to suggestions.

I'd like to join you but will be away but would be up for stuff after new year.

If i were you though I start at the other end, jaggers or Blackden or Rowlee bridge. Given the time of year and the prevailing winds you would then be running back with the wind behind you.

If you're free midweek there always the boundary run.

Check With Shaunaneto as he's often looking for some one to run with.
