I reckoned 3 hours as an elite time. That was basd on the thinking that if it was run as a fell race about 20% would break that time. Perhaps I will have to see how everyone goes on and adjust it for 2011 if it looks too generous.

Did this yesterday, knew most of the route but covered a couple of miles of new (to me) paths. Got a little mislaid between the Track Junction Control and Daisy Bank but all in all a very enjoyable route. Will try again later in year now I know the route but I'll have to have someone whipping me to get round in under 3 hours!

Tim Brooks - Calder Valley 3:29. (Actually stop watch read 3:29:54 - good job I parked at the pub side of the car park :-) )

That's a good time for winter - well done. A lot more sensible than than Tom Brunt's 2-44 who as you probably know has just won the Wadsworth so he's obviously on form.

Having looked at the route, I quite fancy trying this in summer, despite it being a heck of a challenge, at my 'present level'*(of fitness/ability)
I think I'd have to plan it very carefully, & either get Joanne (SWMBO) or a good friend to 'leap-frog' me in the car, & make sure I reach certain points (in a reasonable condition

*I've only been running 3 years, & only done 2 proper Fell-Races (the 2009 'Stanbury Splash', & 'Ilkley Moor')
But I've also ran the 'Trunces' & the (Bingley Harriers) 'Cyclists verses Harriers'
My road distance is only up to 10 miles, bar a single half-marathon

Hey Richard don't discount it too readily.

If you fancy a unpressured trot round to recce the route, give me a shout by all means. I'm Halifax based so its on my doorstep.

Will probably have a crack at this myself in the next couple of weeks once I'm done with my current round of DIY.

Good effort Mountain Man been meaning to check out some of your other challenges but with this being on my doorstep I've got no excuse not to now.
