    Rombalds Stride - Ilkley Moor

Mountain man and me are going round most of the route (about 20/21miles) on thursday 31 Dec. Nice and steady with the aim of ironing out the could be tricky/confusing bits; off Baildon moor, the new bit after Rombald moor towers, the bit after white wells and through Menston. Starting from just after Esholt, we aim to finish at chevin top car park. All welcome

    Chris,
I recced a small part of the route yesterday between Lanshaw Lad and the Cow and Calf via the Swastika Stone. It's pretty wet up there at the moment!

Hi Chris, just emailed you. Got exit permit so am up for this now. Just let me know start time and place (earlier the better for me) and I'll be there, possible with one or two others.

    Chris,

Did you get out on New Year's Eve? Me and a friend were out then, and 'ran' the first 10 miles or so from Guiseley to Lansaw Lad setting off at 8am. It was really icy underfoot and snowy on Ilkley Moor (not as snowy as it will be by today though). If the snow and ice has cleared up by race day it will be very boggy in many places, but then that's not really news. We only strayed off path a couple of times - once coming round Baildon up towards the cattle grid, and also accidently contoured Baildon Moor.

Will be out in a couple of weeks to do the second half, weather permitting.
