Will Cook retire at (or before) the end of this series? He owes England very little and at least hasn’t done what Alex Stewart did ie announce at the beginning of the summer that the final home test of the season would be his last
Cook has had lean patches before. He is facing a very good Australian bowling attack. In the absence of any youngsters knocking on the door, I think he should stay for a while until someone good enough takes his place.

It’s a different event Trev, almost a different sport. You wouldn’t hope to win Stanbury Splash at Spine pace and vice versa
