    DECLARATION - Ind 521-8

England's first target must be 322 to avoid the follow-on.

    Spot the difference.

Maybe the selectors should take a long hard look at themselves.

Or a short look at Monty, then stick him in the side for the next match

KP or bust now... no-one else in the side can play spin well enough to rack up a big score. If some combo of Cook, Bell, Patel and maybe Prior can stay with him up to a double ton, that'd see us up to around 400. Cheeky 50 from Broad, few big shots from Swann and Bresnan and we'll be at 500 before you know it and the match'll have draw written all over it. Easy.

More realistic scenarios are also available.

I'm amused that we're talking about KP as the potential saviour - against spinners!!

Surely India have a left arm spinner, against which KP averages about 10.

He's hustling. Really he's a spin master. Look at his innings in Sri Lanka. India put Yuvraj (left arm spin) straight on for KP's first over today... he boffed him all over the park.

    He's got me convinced

I'll wait until tomorrow morning to reply more fully to this. It's strange, but I find I'm a better predictor of the outcome of international cricket when it's already happened.

Yeah, it's strange, I'm often much more optimistic about England's chances until after the event.
