Last time I checked the England first innings score we were not doing that well. Just checked again and we managed to get a first innings lead ? Apparently Joe Root and Jimmy Anderson dug them out of the mire.

No country for old men.
Record last wicket stand of 198

It's funny that when they have a large last-wicket stand, it's bad captaincy from Cook. But when we get a world-record last-wicket stand, no-one was blaming the Indian captain.
WooHoo! Third time lucky for Matt Prior as he finally catches one

All the pundits agreed it was a rubbish day from England yesterday. Trying to bounce out the Indians on a green pitch - daft. Is that bad captaincy or the bowlers not doing what they were told? Either way it's down to Cook.
Chef's gone again. For a great batsman he's making a lot of poor shots to get himself out.
I've not enjoyed his captaincy at all. I reckon give it to Broad and let Cook focus on his batting.

I agree with Boycott, Cook should return to his county to get some runs and confidence back.
I am a massive fan of Cook, but he is not an 'in the face inspirational' leaders. He is lacking tactically and his batting is the worst ever, not even a 3 or 4 centuries is good enough for him now. I think that it is right that he returns back to county cricket for a season and correct his flaws. He is a great batsman when in form and at only 29 I would certainly see him getting back in the England set up.
Next captain .... hmmm, I dont really see Broad as a test match captain, Bell and other senior players are in the same boat as Cook, perhaps time for a slight risk and go for a junior player and invest in the future rebuild.
Boycott is right when he said that the bowlers should consult and request the captain over field placements which has not happened for a long time.

... continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential.
Cook is looking shakier than a jelly riding the cobble stage of the TDF
Anyway the TDF has finished for the day so just the cricket and the Open to keep me occupied now

I think we are doomed
The golf turned out to be more exciting, unless you are an Indian cricket supporter of course
