An intriging first few hours today. England doing a lot with the ball. Only two SL wickets fall. Finely balanced.

Yes lots of drama with Broad wrestling with his personal cricketing frustrations till he finally got that wicket. Anderson looking ok till his back problem happened and Sri Lanka putting on a good batting display down their innings with Jayawardene putting in a shift.

England lose Strauss but it could be a good day tomorrow for England if they can expose the weaknesses of the Sri Lankan bowlers.

I'd say SL have edged it so far (if only they had!) but I don't fancy their attack much. A good match up if Anderson recovers. I'd have picked onions on this pitch. Hoggy wouldve bowled well here i reckon.

Quality innings by Trott and Cook. Great opportunity for the boys to use this match as a batting practice and rack up some good runs.

Perhaps its time that the authorities should look at ways of encouraging a positive result from a weather effected test.
