Got my hike number (15) today.
Hi there folks, new to the site and I'm after a little help. I'm doing the Fellsman next month and at the moment I'm sitting with the maps out going over the route. From searching back through the forum I see rumours of a nice dryish route over fleet moss, any one able to help me out with a few GRefs for this route and any other tips gratefully received. Sorry to be a pest on my first visit.
cheers
Rab
Hi Rab,
I'd dare suggest there's no such thing as dry line over fleet moss.
For me this year I'm going to tough out straight across the boundary fence line.
Last couple of years I've gone further south and always felt I was wasting time.
IMHO ;
The only dry way across Fleet Moss is to fly !
I'll PM you with some (vague )details when i get some time Well you need to do some work

Which stroke will you be using Back stroke would be best to keep it out of your eyes....
No need IDP - I'm sure I saw in the rules for this year that mask, snorkel and fins are mandatory
Thanks Ian, much appreciated.
I owe you a pint
SO, who believes the weather forecast?
The Barmy Broadcast Co are predicting fine weather the rest of the week, and over this weekend.
I hope they are right for once, a drier than normal crossing would be great for my first time (no 289).
If your a fellow masocist see you there!
Short arms and deep pockets. A yorkshire man.
Perhaps, don't forget to put the sun cream on
Fleet Moss I don't expect will be that dry ! I was on the back end of the route on Buckden Pike and Great Whernside on Friday and it didn't seem too bad up there. There was a bit of wetness about but alright
What times are people hoping for ?
I did 17:47 last year so hopefully shave a bit off this year
