It looks a good route, with the vast majority being off road, and one or two route options in places.
It's a cracking route, much tougher than the Hobble I think.
To answer your questions, there is a couple of miles on the road at the end, much of it downhill. The CP at Lumbutts is in the Chapel grounds (if you get to Lumbutts you can't really miss it!).
