The other contender was Andy Tibbets ( based in central Scotland ), his background is more that of a very strong walker / Munro-bagger; but he has been doing some ( none comp ) running over the past couple of years. The drenching over the Glyders, added to the reduced pace due to the injury, meant that he was in the initial stages of hypothermia at Ogwen. With the monsoon downpour continuing unabated, heading out onto the Carneddau would have been unwise. He's young enough and those Welsh mountains aren't going anywhere.
